I hope that all manufacturers take a lesson from this recommendation and submit high-quality post-marketing safety surveillance plans with all of their NDAS, not just for drugs that appear to be associated with safety issues. Medicare Part D should present a great opportunity for CMS to coordinate such surveillance programs in the future (see my predictions from January’s newsletter).
